anvil-privacy - privacy policy for anvil services
SYNOPSIS
This document describes what data eddacraft collects, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data when using anvil.
DESCRIPTION
anvil is a developer tool that checks AI-assisted code changes on your machine. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we handle.
We operate under a principle of data minimisation: we only collect what is necessary to provide the service.
DATA COLLECTION
Waitlist Registration
When you request access, we collect your email address. This is stored securely and used solely to communicate about your access status and product updates.
Usage Analytics
We collect anonymised, aggregated usage data to improve the product. This does not include your source code, prompts, or any content you process through anvil.
Beta Accounts
When you sign in to a beta account, we record the identity returned by your sign-in provider and login timestamps, used for product access and support.
CLI Telemetry
The anvil CLI sends a narrow anonymous usage beacon, at most once per installation per day, and only after an interactive first run has shown its notice. It never includes source code, file paths, command arguments, findings or free text. Turn it off with anvil telemetry off, ANVIL_TELEMETRY=off or DO_NOT_TRACK=1. DATA STORAGE
Waitlist and account records are stored in a managed Postgres database. Data in transit uses TLS; data at rest is encrypted by the database provider.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to:

- - Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
